Psychologist Session

Our Therapy Programs

Our mental health program is designed to provide stability in a tranquil, comfortable, non-hospital setting. We will work with you to create a custom plan for your specific needs that will help you regain a healthy life – without being pulled down by feelings of shame, guilt, or regret.

Co-Occurring Treatment

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, approximately half of all people with addiction also experience some form of mental illness. Treating addiction without addressing a mental health condition will lead to a poor sobriety outcome. We will help heal both conditions simultaneously, leading to a healthy life.

Holding Hands
  • How do I know if I need treatment?
Understanding drug and alcohol use and addiction can be a complex issue. Many people struggle with acknowledging they have a potential problem or addiction. Some common indicators one may look for are: Life becomes unmanageable Incapable of controlling when or how much of a substance you use Having cravings to use the substance Unable to maintain any commitments Hiding your substance use from others Experiencing sudden mood shifts Substance use is impacting relationships, jobs, and family
  • Couldn’t I just stop using substances on my own?
Some people are able to stop using a substance when they realize they have a problem, however, for many, they have tried to stop unsuccessfully in the past and continue to struggle. Professional assistance by a licensed therapist are able to assist in this process by addressing underlying triggers that drive ones addiction or substance use. Some people may also need medications to assist with managing withdrawals and cravings.
  • What does outpatient addiction treatment consist of?
Outpatient substance use and addiction treatment describes a treatment program that does not involve living away from home. Outpatient services are provided in a comfortable, office based setting, where you can privately speak with your licensed therapist or medical professional.
  • Can I use insurance to pay for treatment?
Insurance plans and their associated benefits vary greatly. Harvard has no control over the outcome of insurance reviews; our staff will work hard to help you obtain the maximum benefit allowed. Harvard Therapy and Recovery will attempt to bill 3rd party insurance if available, and you will be responsible for any deductible, co-payment, or co-insurance. Each consumer will complete a fee agreement prior to starting services and payment is expected at the time services are delivered.
  • How do I know if my substance use treatment or addiction therapy is working?
You will know your substance use treatment or addiction therapy is working when you start seeing progress towards your therapeutic goals. If you feel frustrated by a lack of progress, speak with your therapist about any changes to your treatment plan.
